I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since we first started this journey of barebones productions. Two decades ago, I thought, let’s make it work with what we have: extraordinary talent, formidable plays, and you – an audience who will trust us to produce work with not much else.

I can’t believe we still get to do this together, 20 years later. When we started, it was difficult to imagine that we could do this year after year. barebones is a labor of love in so many ways. We don’t compromise – and it’s not easy. But you kept showing up, and it motivates us to keep going.

As it turns out, Pittsburgh wanted a theater company that spoke to them in a real way. It needed a company that explored difficult topics without judgment. It needed a company that wasn’t afraid to blow the lid off and shake things up.

So, here we are. After 20 years of doing this, I am still amazed by and grateful for what we create together. We keep showing up because you keep showing up. It’s been an incredible year, and I can’t wait to share the next 20 years with you.

Your support means more to me and the hardest working artists in the business than you will ever know. If you can, please consider making a gift to barebones productions this season.

Without you and a little grit, we wouldn’t be here. Thanks for your continued support.

Best,

Patrick Jordan, Founder & Artistic Director
