presents the Pittsburgh premiere of... written by Bryony Lavery directed by Melissa Martin BRYONY LAVERY has written more than 20 plays, produced for television and radio and written books, including a biography of Tallulah Bankhead. She has also been an Artistic Director of Gay Sweatshop and Female Trouble and a teacher of playwriting at Birmingham University. Her most celebrated work, Frozen, which opened at the Royal National Theatre in July 2002 starring Anita Dobson, Josie Lawrence and Tom Georgeson, was a dark tale of a killer and his victim's mother. Kate Kellaway has written of Lavery's "gift for multi-dimensional feeling - she lights up the darkest spaces without trivialising or undermining her subject." Lavery puts it more directly: "You know how teachers used to say 'NO LAUGHING'? I have never been in a situation, however tragic, where there isn't something funny."
